Leica Reel

Yikes! Where did the time go? Need to organize and get back on top of things. Been so busy. Anywho here is a rough leica of my grad film in progress.

It's a comedy, my goal is to entertain and get a laugh out of people.

I'm sure I've already told you this, but it's ridiculously hilarious. There might be some moments that you could plus a little, like maybe play with the balance of the car (the monster chick weighs it down on one side so the guy's side of the car is off the ground).

I think you could also speed up some parts. I'd personally try the Kaj technique and play it at double speed. Not everything would work but I think there are some moments that could easily be shortened.

And based of this version I don't know if you're still going for it but I might forget about the live action moment. It works as is pretty well I think.

I think this is freakin' hilarious Andrew! The growling bear-of-a-girlfriend literally had me laughing out loud.

I love the story and the characters...well done sir.

I think you will undoubtedly accomplish your goal. I still kinda think that the guy and the cute girl should do the tongue thing at the end though. I was kind of expecting it so when it didn't happen it felt like it was missing something. But I've heard other people say they prefer it without, so it's up to you

hey! so i think i agree with the speeding up part. not all of it, but some areas can afford to be a little faster. (feels like it drags a bit. not a lot, just a bit. but as you animate, it might shorten anyway... but yeah)
AND another thing i was feeling was that it might feel stronger if the beast's expression changes to surprise/shock AFTER she sees the fine (not after she sees the garbage. since she's a bully type, she wouldn't care about the mess she made unless there was a huge consequence) maybe? just my two cents.
but i loove love love how you incorporated the 'official business' girl and just a girl at the same time (without having to have her change disguises) very nice. character motives are much more clear! awesome job murrman!

I started laughing and I didn't stop the whole way through. This will be awesome.

I think that you should compress it. It will give it that much more of a punch. You could probably make this 1:20-30 easy. I like that there's no empathy for the fat girl. That she is ugly both on the outside and inside. It's amazing.

pretty funny and sweet andrew I'm very interested in the style you will go with for the final.

that shot at 00:41

you may have addressed this already but the junk mound the car sits atop is missing or is just not in the leica or some other reason...

this is a strong short with ample opportunity for performance

great.

Great job Andrew! That film is so entertaining! I can't wait to come see it! I absolutely love some of the beasts' acting - like the roaring from the car, LMFAO.
